In the spirit of being ‘men and women for others’, the Ateneo de Naga Junior High School extended aid to the victims of flooding and landslide in the Partido Area of Camarines Sur in partnership with St. Andrew Academy, a diocese-run school in Sagñay, Camarines Sur.

As soon as the classes resumed after the Christmas and New Year break, a campaign to gather financial aid and collect used clothing was launched by the Ateneo de Naga Student Government (ANSGO) and the Office of the Assistant Principal for Formation and Student Affairs (APFSA).

Through the learning groups’ officers, donations in kind were also collected and gathered at the ANSGO Office.

The distribution of the relief aid to the typhoon victims was conducted a few days after at the Sagñay Sports Complex which housed the evacuees and victims of the calamity. Several families received the school’s Aid.

That same day before the distribution of relief goods, sorting was done with the help of the student government and faculty members of St. Andrew Academy of Sagñay, Camarines Sur. The Sports Complex of the municipality of Sagñay is just beside the St. Andrew Academy Campus.

It would be remembered that towards the end of 2018, Typhoon Usman left many homeless and dead in Sagñay and in Tiwi, Albay because of heavy downpour which caused landslides in some areas of the two municipalities.
