Dressed to the theme of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s opus set in the Roaring Twenties, Grades 9 and 10 students of Ateneo de Naga Junior High School graced the traditional promenade at the Villa Caceres Hotel on 23 February 2019 which showcased dances, musical acts, and tribute to the would-be completers.

Although traditionally held towards the last few weeks to cap the academic year, the JS Prom in AdNU JHS is held normally in the month of February, further underscoring the element of love and romance.

This year’s JS Prom commenced with the Turnover Rite where selected seniors (Grade 10) passed on to the juniors (Grade 9) the symbols of their legacy and endeavors in the JHS – academics, sports, artistic activities, spiritual formation and governance. Afterwards, a tribute video was shown to showcase the testimonies, and farewell messages to the Grade 10 students who are to leave the JHS by March.

The dinner followed right after. During the dinner, the prom participants were serenaded by selected groups of students who were handpicked to perform and sing love songs.

Immediately following the dinner as the Grand Cotillion of the Grade 9 students which wowed to entire attending body.

The prom was capped by the dances and awarding of the three sets of special awards given to the following students:

Best Danding Couple (Xavier Jose Rubio and Janica Kyle Dollero)

Prom Prince and Princess (Bryan Josh Encisa and Julia Reeze Iblan)

Prom King and Queen (Paul Michael Nuñez and Mary Gwyneth Joson)
