The entire Ateneo de Naga Junior High School Community started on the first day of October the October Devotion which is common to all Jesuit schools in the world.

The month of October is dedicated to Mary under her title, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary. In the month of October, classes start with praying the decades of the Rosary.

Also in this month, everyone wears the October Medal – the Miraculous Medal of the French St. Catherine Laboure tied with blue ribbon. The use of the color blue, which has become the color associated with the Ateneo schools in the Philippines, traces its origin from the exclusive use of the costly bluish mineral ‘lapiz lazuli’ in the portraits of the Blessed Mother during the Middle Ages.

The month of October is also reserved for the Blessed Mother, as it was in this month that two special events are attributed to the intercession of the Blessed Mother (Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary) – the victory of the Christians in the Battle of Lepanto in the Mediterranean, and the victory of the colonial Catholic Spaniards and Filipinos against the Protestant Dutch invaders.
